IDEA Awards 2016 – Highly Commended

Posted 13 Sep 2016

The Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) is Australia’s largest and most successful independent design awards program. Launched by inside magazine in 2003, the program celebrates the best of Australian interior and product design across 11 categories and five Special Awards.

Christopher Boots was shortlisted for 2016’s Object – Furniture & Lighting category and gained a HIGHLY COMMENDED. Congratulations to our friend Ross Gardam for winning the award.

Entries are judged by a panel of design industry professionals, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the judging process. As well as attracting submissions from some of the country’s leading architecture and design firms, the program also helps to support emerging local designers.

Christopher Boots was commissioned to create the bespoke feature lighting for a private residence in a South Yarra development by David Hicks group and Timoli Mustica of Okologi,

Boots’ unique signature addressed each room, while forming a comprehensive concept of large-scale precious jewellery. Rich, yet understated, brass, bronze and natural crystal provide a natural sophistication.

In 2014, Christopher Boots was highly commended for the Asterix Series.

Sponsored by Humanscale, we are proud to be shortlisted alongside fellow leading Australian designers Russell & George,  Ross Gardam, Tom Fereday and Adam Goodrum.
