CURIOSITY CABINET is a deeply personal, visceral journey into philosophical and aesthetic investigations through a vehicle of geological expressionism and the sublime.

A one-of-a-kind functional artwork, a sarcophagus for the convenience of liquor, made from reclaimed oak, precious gems and lost wax bronze, CURIOSITY CABINET uses saturated colour and pattern to convey a cosmic reflection on the perception of time.

Each precious mineral is meticulously considered before being hand placed, like swirling brush strokes of a Secessionist painting. Designed to house spirits, the interior glows with inlaid quartz crystals set into sheets of solid brass, along with thick glass shelves. 

Christopher Boots creation, VANITY SCREEN, was a project of love that required four years to realize. First presented at Collective Design in New York in May 2017, the room divider incorporates clear and smoky quartz crystal and lapis lazuli in contrast to a moon-like surface cast in solid bronze. The celestial screen is the first in a limited edition of eight and the first of its kind in a new direction for the studio, expanding into cast furniture and objects.
