Location: Historic British Medical Association House, Sydney
Completed: 2014
A commissioned one of a kind centre piece for a private obstetric clinic in the Historic British Medical Association House, Sydney.
The Divine Mother consists of two paired crystallised ovals inspired by the ancient Mother Goddess motif. The Mother Goddess form personifies nature, motherhood, fertility and creation, making for a powerful beacon.
BMA House is an excellent and rare example of an early Sydney skyscraper designed in an idiosyncratic Art Deco style embellished with Medieval and Gothic decoration.
Meticulous detail adorns the building with intricate gargoyle displays over the tiled facade and stunning views of the Botanic Gardens including Sydney Harbour. The piece was commissioned by Smart Design Studio.
